Does anyone know anything about Brett Szemple from New York area?

I live in Washington state, and we found Brett Szemple through craigslist. He is a wedding photographer from New York area. His webside/name of his business is our-wedding-photographer.com
My fiance an I really like his work, and we have talked to him on the phone a couple of times, and he is sooo nice! But unfortunatle there are a lot of scammers out there, and we just want to make sure that he is trustworthy. We have checked out several of his references and they all had wonderful things to say about him. There was only one thing brought up to us was that he used to work for Celebration Studios, which was a photography company that went under because they lost funds and never sent the pictures to their clients etc. But Brett only worked for them, and since then he has been working independently.
Bacically, I am just asking if anyone here has had Brett do your photography, or if you have been to a wedding, or know someone who had Brett as their photographer. Thank you!
