Default Destination Weddings - Beyond the Beach

Whenever someone hears the words "Destination Wedding" the first thing that comes to mind is often the beach. As photographers we all know that there are plenty of equally amazing locations beyond the beach.

I'd love to see some examples and ideas from "landlocked" destination weddings...

Default Mountain Resort weddings

It's funny that you bring this up, because a good portion of the weddings which we photograph take place in Canada's Rocky Mountain National Parks and we receive inquiries for this type of wedding every week.

The 4 and 5-star resort hotels that cater to these weddings offer fabulous amenities in a gorgeous natural setting.

Couples come from all over the world to be married in Banff National Park, and it is definitely a "destination" to consider in addition to the more tropical locales!

We have been lucky enough to photograph several destination weddings in the Wine Country and in Carmel. At the vineyards, the receptions are often held in wine caves. Candles make these spaces elegant and romantic. All of the sites have beautiful architecture and landscaping.

Here's a shot from a reception at the Calistoga Ranch (http://www.calistogaranch.com/) in their wine cave:

We just shot a destination wedding at Wolf Mountain Vineyards in Dahlonega, GA. Who knew that Georgia had a wine country? It sure is beautiful!

Lots more at the blog but here's one of my favorites:

Talking Vegas, Baby

I haven't shot it yet, but I'm booked to go to Vegas for a wedding this Fall. I was there in '99 and that was kind of the beginning of my shooting career. lol. Long story.
