How long is too long to wait for wedding pictures? I was married August 15 2009. I have seen exactly 25 "preview" pictures my photographer posted on facebook. THIS IS IT!! It is now December 2, 2009!!! That is almost 16 weeks with nothing tangible! I haven't been able to see all my proofs or an online gallery so that I can pick my pictures for my album. I asked her 2 months ago if I could order a few 4x6 copies of 2 of the pictures that I have seen, I still haven't recieved those either. I think this is ridiculous. Am I being unreasonable?

OK to Charge to Edit Out Guests' Umbrellas in Formals?

I got married this past September, and when my husband and I were looking through our photos we noticed that in all of our formal altar returns with our bridesmaids, groomsmen and flower girls in front of a renovated antebellum mansion, either the photographer's assistant or a couple of guests' colorful umbrellas were behind us in the shot. My husband remembers our photographer asking her assistant to move, but she still ended up in the photos, and we had no idea guests had left their umbrellas in front of the house.

Now that we're starting to think about our album, I asked our photographer if she could do anything with those photos, since they're some of our favorites (our best friends and siblings are in them), and she responded that she can easily crop out her assistant (which unfortunately loses a lot of the beautiful house and giant columns from the photo :( ), but the umbrellas might be a little harder since they're right behind us and she charges $65/hr with a one hour minimum for "Photoshop retouching of that type."

My question is, since these were formal shots and not candids, and we all stood where she told us to stand and did not realize what was going on in the background behind us, shouldn't she be willing to try to correct the issue free of charge? If they had been candid shots, I would understand the fee, but she setup the shot and told us what to do. Or is this standard practice? Just curious if I should feel taken advantage of here. Thanks!
